The AIM Motorsport MX2E Plug And Play Dash Logger Kit is a specialized device designed specifically for the Lotus Elise and Exige 2004-2020 models equipped with a Toyota engine. The kit includes a 6" high contrast, high-quality TFT display with 18 integrated LEDs and is mounted in the bespoke instrument cluster provided. Installing the cluster is a straightforward process that includes a housing for the GPS module and four integrated buttons (2 per side) built into the sides of the cluster for easy scrolling through the pages/menus.
It's worth noting that some early 2004-2007 models may require an optional adaptor harness, and slight modification to the supplied binnacle to make it fit. You can determine this by checking what colour dials are fitted, and following the guide provided. White instrument dials on models fitted with an airbag (USA) require an adaptor harness and no modification to the supplied binnacle, while white instrument dials on models not fitted with an airbag (UK and Rest of World) require both an adaptor harness and slight modification of the supplied binnacle. Black instrument dials on 2008 models onwards (UK, Rest of World including USA) do not require an adaptor harness or any modification of the supplied binnacle.
The MX 2E dash is designed to be easy to install using the original connector and provides several useful features, such as 14 digital switch inputs, an expansion port that allows additional sensors or an AIM SmartyCam HD camera to be added, and Wi-Fi connectivity. There are two types of display available - road or track, and a choice between analogue or digital. The dash offers 16 display layouts to choose from, with four different colour options. Additionally, the GPS09 module supplied with the kit provides accurate GPS speed, lap timing, and track mapping. You can view track data directly from the dash or use the powerful RaceStudio3 software (free to download) for more in-depth analysis, displaying all data in easy-to-understand graphs, histograms, or tables to quickly compare different laps, sessions, or track days.
The dash includes an analogue camera input on the rear, allowing you to swap the display into a mirror camera, which can be activated by a push button command or event manager (i.e. selecting reverse gear).C
