AIM ECU Bridge

To display engine data on a display or on a SmartyCam HD video, the ECU Bridge and RPM Bridge systems are required, as long as no recording is needed. These systems are compatible with G-Dash and Formula/GT steering wheels, as well as SmartyCam HD on-board cameras.

The ECU Bridge is necessary when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) transmits data using hardware protocols such as OBDII, CAN or RS232. AiM has developed numerous protocols to ensure compatibility with virtually all stock and aftermarket ECUs.

To use the ECU Bridge, it needs to be configured correctly with Race Studio 2 software to allow communication with the different visors/cameras on one side and ECUs on the other side.

The RPM Bridge is to be used whenever the car has got no ECU (i.e. classic cars). In this case, RPM data can be obtained by connecting the coil or reading a square wave signal generated by the ignition system.
