AIM Solo 2

The AIM Solo 2 has improved GPS technology compared to its predecessor, as it now receives data from three satellite constellations (GPS, Glonass, and Galileo), resulting in faster data speed and more precise positioning. This allows for a reduced start-up time and accurate lap times within a tolerance of two hundredths of a second.

The Solo 2 display features seven different backlight colors that can be selected by the user. The high-contrast display makes it easy for the driver to identify the data being shown.

The Solo 2 comes pre-loaded with a database of over 3,000 tracks from around the world. Once the unit is turned on, it automatically identifies its position and loads the start line coordinates to begin recording lap times. If the track is not recognized, the Solo 2 enters auto-learning mode to create the track layout based on the car's position and records the lap times.

The Solo 2 has improved GPS technology that allows for better reliability in the predictive lap timing function. The LEDs can be configured to show whether the driver is quicker or slower than their best lap time. The Solo 2 also has a theoretical lap timing mode that combines the best sector times to provide an optimal lap time. Timing information can also be shown in a delta format to indicate how much faster or slower the current lap time is compared to the best lap time.

The Solo 2 is not limited to circuit racing and can be used for point-to-point or regularity events, as well as performance tests such as 0-60 mph. All data is recorded and can be reviewed immediately after the session.

For further data analysis, the Solo 2 has integrated Wi-Fi to transfer data securely and quickly to a laptop or computer up to 50m away without the need for connectors or cables. The data can then be imported into the AIM Race Studio 3 software for full analysis.

The kit includes the Aim Solo 2 GPS Lap Timer, power cable with car lighter socket, power cable with UK AC adapter, mounting bracket with screws, Race Studio software (free download - to ensure latest version), and AIM sticker. A user manual is also available as a free download.
